The service

Learn Korean from Your Bias ("KoreanScene") at learnbias.com turns the subtitles of YouTube videos into Korean lessons: scene cards, explanations in your language, audio, and short Quick Checks. The service is in a pilot phase, and features may change.

Your account

You sign in with a Google account. One account is for one person; keep your Google credentials secure, and contact us if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Paid subscriptions are available only to users aged 18 or older. Before a paid plan can be used you confirm this, and we record the confirmation.

During the pilot, signing in also registers your interest in the launch. You can unsubscribe from those emails at any time.

Pilot status

During the pilot, pricing, payments, and lesson generation for learners are not available; the site offers sample lessons (the Bias Trial), pre-registration, and these legal pages. Nothing is charged during the pilot.

Credits and payments (when paid plans open)

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions. Each billing period comes with an allotment of credits; generating a lesson deck uses credits according to the length of the video, and unused credits do not carry over to the next period.

If a generation fails, the credits it used are refunded to your account automatically.

Payments are processed by Paddle as merchant of record. Refunds are handled under the Refund Policy published on this site.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to bypass access controls, credit accounting, or the pilot's restrictions; do not use the extension or the API in ways other than the service provides; do not interfere with the operation of the service; and do not submit content you have no right to use.

Videos stay on YouTube and belong to their owners; we do not host or redistribute them. Lesson content generated for you is for your personal learning.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The service is provided as is during the pilot. Lesson content is generated with AI and may contain errors; use your own judgment when learning from it. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which during the pilot is nothing.

Ending the relationship

You can ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing hello@learnbias.com. We may suspend or end an account that violates these terms.
